All brands and trademarks are unacceptable for commercial use, but are acceptable for editorial use with a proper caption, unless otherwise noted.
- The term “App Store” and Apple’s App Store logo are trademarked
- The logo, name, and 3-stripe design are trademarked
- The word “Airstream,” as well as their vehicle and caravan designs, are trademarked
- Images where Airstream vehicles are incidental will be considered for commercial use
- These images will be evaluated on a case by case basis
- The Android logo and robot design are trademarked
- Vectors and illustrations derivative of the robot design are unacceptable for both commercial and editorial use
- Illustrations containing incidental Android logos will be considered for editorial use
- Products and operating systems designed by Apple Inc. are trademarked
- Vectors and illustrations derivative of Apple products are unacceptable for commercial use
- Vectors of Apple products or similar designs are unacceptable for commercial and editorial use
ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Emblem and Flag
- Unacceptable for commercial use
- Acceptable for editorial use with a proper caption
- The distinctive crossed stripes design on Asics shoes is trademarked
- The Bluetooth name and logo are trademarked
- The design of the British Concorde, a supersonic passenger airplane, is trademarked
- The Botox logo and the term “Botox” are trademarked
- The black, tan, and red pattern known as a “haymarket check” or the “Burberry classic check” is copyrighted
- Acceptable for editorial use if not the main focus
- The term “Carnival Cruise Line” and unique branching funnel design atop their cruise ships are trademarked
- The "double C" logo design of the Chanel brand is trademarked
- Unacceptable for commercial or editorial use
- Christian Louboutin is a French fashion designer whose shoe designs with shiny, red-lacquered soles have become his signature and are trademarked
- Unacceptable for commercial or editorial use
- The name Caterpillar, a manufacturer of industrial equipment, as well as Caterpillar's logo and the distinct black and yellow design are trademarked
- The "C" pattern design of the Coach brand is trademarked
- The name, logo, and iconic glass Coke bottle shape are trademarked
Conformité Européenne (CE Marking) Symbol
- The CE marking (abbreviation of French "Conformité Européene"), a certification mark indicating conformity with European health, safety, and environmental standards, often found on the back of electronics, is trademarked
- The star logo and the distinctive white cap toe "Chuck Taylor All-Star" shoe design is trademarked
Country Seals, National Seals, and Coat of Arms
- Official seals and coats of arms from countries and nations are copyrighted
- Acceptable for commercial use if the country/national seals or coat of arms are not isolated or the main focus of the content
- Crayola art products and swirl logo design are copyrighted and are a registered trademark of Crayola Properties, Inc
- Crocs logo and shoe design are trademarked
- The words “CrossFit” and “CrossFit for Hope” are trademarked
- Images that contain the words “CrossFit,” “Cross-Fit,” “Cross Fit,” “CrossFit for Hope,” or any variation thereof are unacceptable for commercial use
- Green cross used in the Czech Republic to mark pharmacies and medical centers is trademarked
- The name and design of Devil Duckies, rubber duck toys with devil horns, are copyrighted

- The designs of the Deutsche Bahn trains in Germany are trademarked
Disney (logos and products)
- All Disney logos, products, characters, theme park costumed characters, and word-marks are trademarked.
- The logo, name, and 2-stripe design are trademarked
- The official DVD logo is trademarked
- Acceptable for editorial use with a proper caption, if not isolated

FCC Symbol
- The logo for the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC), often found on the back of electronics, is trademarked
Frisbee
- The name “Frisbee” is trademarked
- Use of “Frisbee” in the metadata is unacceptable for commercial use
- Rubber duckies and related products by Game™ are trademarked
- Acceptable for editorial use with a proper caption, if not isolated
- The FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) and World Cup names, logos, emblems, jerseys, trophies, and all related merchandise are trademarked
- FIFA products, logos, insignias, names and/or keywords cannot be used for Royalty-Free stock imagery. Any shots featuring it are unacceptable for commercial use.

- IEEE 1394 and FireWire name, symbol, and logo are trademarked
- The design of the Flexi-Bar is copyrighted and the name "Flexi-Bar" is trademarked
- The Green Dot, a symbol of a European network of recycling systems, is trademarked
- This symbol is a recycling standard controlled and operated by Duales System Deutschland AG (DSD)
- Unacceptable for commercial use without a license from DSD

- All Harley Davidson motorcycles, products, logos, insignias, and names are trademarked
- The Harvard Veritas shield is trademarked
Hershey Products (Hershey Kisses and Hershey Bars)
- Hershey product names, Hershey Kisses (packaging and shape), and the Hershey Chocolate Bar (packaging and shape) are trademarked
- Vectors/illustrations of Hershey Chocolate Bars or Hershey Kisses or their likeness are unacceptable for commercial use
- New International Version and NIV, New International Reader’s Version and NIRV, and Today’s New International Version and TNIV are trademarked
I Love NY (I ♥ NY)
- The I Love NY logo is trademarked
- The name, leaping deer logo, and signature green and yellow trade dress are trademarked
- The phrase “Keep Calm and Carry On” is trademarked
- The unique design of the Kikkoman bottle is trademarked
- Le Furniture designed by Le Corbusier is trademarked.
- Unacceptable for commercial or editorial use
- Lego name and products (including Lego people) are trademarked
- Levi’s back pocket stitching pattern, red tab, and company name on buttons are trademarked
- Little League uniforms and the terms “Little League,” “Little Leaguer,” and “Little League Baseball” are trademarked

- The design of Lindt Chocolate Bunnies is copyrighted

- The "Little Trees" name and tree-shaped air freshener design are trademarked
London Underground Symbols and Transport for London Roundel
- The tube symbol and text are trademarked
- Louis Vuitton’s “LV” monogram and checkered pattern are trademarked. This restriction also applies to Louis Vuitton-inspired items.
- Unacceptable for commercial or editorial use
- The design of the LTI (London Taxi International) black taxi, also known as the “Hackney Carriage” and “London Black Cab,” is trademarked
- The Made in Nature logo, packaging, and name are trademarked
- Mars, Inc.’s “Bounty Bars” (wrapped and unwrapped) are trademarked
- Unacceptable for commercial or editorial use
- Mattel brands including Barbie, Bratz, Fisher Price, and Hot Wheels are trademarked
- Acceptable for editorial use with a proper caption, if not isolated
- McDonald's "Golden Arches" are the iconic symbol of the global fast food restaurant chain and are trademarke
- The design of the McDonald’s french fry container is copyrighted
“Me to You Bears” (aka “Tatty Teddy”)
- Products including teddy bears, figurines, cards, rugs, mugs and wedding accessories made by Carte Blanche Greetings Ltd. are trademarked
- The name "Michelin," a brand of tires, is trademarked
- Monaco’s Coat of Arms is trademarked
- The Monopoly board game and game pieces are copyrighted
MTA (Metropolitan Transit Authority)
- Any maps, logos, signage, or Metro cards of the MTA, including the NYC Subway, Long Island Railroad, and Metro-North trains, are copyrighted
- Vectors/illustrations of MTA logos, signage or Metro cards are unacceptable for commercial or editorial use
- The word “Movember” is trademarked
- Mon Cheri box designs are copyrighted
- The Nalgene logo, name, and bottle design are trademarked
NBA (National Basketball Association)
- NBA games, arenas, and branding including team logos, names, mascots, jerseys, trophies, and all merchandise of all NBA, WNBA and NBA G League teams are trademarked
- Unacceptable for commercial or editorial use
- The Neocube magnetic toy is copyrighted
- Unacceptable for commercial or editorial use
- The Nike "swoosh" logo is trademarked
- The design of the NovoLog Insulin Pen is trademarked
- The design of the Palmer Chocolate Bunnies is copyrighted
- Unacceptable for commercial or editorial use
- The Parrot AR Drone Quadricopter design is trademarked
- The design of Peeps, a brand of marshmallow candies, is trademarked
- Acceptable for editorial use with a proper caption, if not isolated
- All brands, designs, and logos of Pepsi are trademarked
- The Pink Lady apple sticker and name are trademarked
- Content that contains “Pink Lady” or “Pink Lady Apples” in the metadata is unacceptable for commercial and editorial use
- All names, characters, game interfaces, and objects associated with Pokémon, a media franchise, are copyrighted
- The Polaroid name, cameras, instant film, classic film border, and color spectrum logo are all trademarked
- Unacceptable for commercial or editorial use
- “Polaroid” cannot be used in the metadata for commercial or editorial content
Political Party Logos – Democratic Party and Republican Party Logos (United States)
- The Democratic and Republican Party Logos are trademarked
- Acceptable for editorial use with a proper caption, if not isolated
- The Puma logo and "formstrip" stripe are trademarked.
Red Cross & Red Crescent Symbols
- The Red Cross logo and Red Crescent symbol are trademarked
- Derivative works (illustrations) are unacceptable for commercial use
- The Ripple logo and design are trademarked
- The design of the Rubik’s Cube, including the 3x3 square configuration, color, and shape of the cube, is trademarked
- Scrabble letter tiles and game boards are trademarked
Shinkansen (aka Japanese Bullet Train)
- The designs of the Shinkansen bullet trains in Japan are trademarked
Shure 55SH & Super 55 Microphones (aka “Elvis” Microphone)
- The names and designs of the Shure 55SH and Super 55 microphones (aka the “Elvis” microphone) are trademarked
- Images that contain either of these microphones as the main focus of the image are unacceptable for commercial use
- Illustrations that have been directly inspired from one of these microphones are unacceptable for commercial or editorial use
- Images that contain these microphones, where they are not the main focus of the image are acceptable as long as all logos and any other potential trademarks have been removed.
- Images will be reviewed on a case by case basis
- The name and design of the Slinky, a metallic or plastic children's gravity toy, are trademarked
- The name and design of the Smiley Face is trademarked
- Acceptable for editorial use if the smiley face is incidental
- Smiley face submissions will be evaluated on a case by case basis
- The name, trade dress, and label configuration of Smirnoff vodka bottles are trademarked
Social Media Icons
- All social media logos, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, WhatsApp, etc., and other technology logos such as browser and app icons are trademarked
- Commercial images may not use the name of a social media platform in the metadata (except for “Instagram” when the image is processed by a filter)
- Acceptable for editorial use with a proper caption, if not isolated
- All characters from the arcade video game Space Invaders are copyrighted
- Unacceptable for commercial or editorial use
- The words "spin," "spinning," and "spinner" in regards to exercise bicycles, as well as the Spinning logo and the terms Bodyblade and Peak Pilates, are trademarked
- The words “Spin” and “Spinning” in the metadata are unacceptable for commercial use if related to bicycling
- The name and design of the Stabilo Boss Highlighter are trademarked
Steak ‘n Shake
- The Steak ‘n Shake name and logo are trademarked
- The name and red design of Swiss Army knives are trademarked
- Tetra Pak or any variation of the name (Tetra Pack, Tetra Brik, Brick) cannot be used in titles/captions or keywords for any commercial or editorial image that features one of their containers.
- The designs of the TGV high-speed trains in France are trademarked
- Unacceptable for commercial or editorial use
- The Ugg classic style boot design and name are trademarked
Umbrellas & Risk (Insurance)
- Content showing an umbrella and the words “insurance” or “risk” in the content or metadata are unacceptable for commercial or editorial use
- The design of a velomobile bicycle, an enclosed human-powered vehicle (HPV), is copyrighted
- The design of Verifone Credit Card Readers is trademarked
- The name and design of the Viewmaster, a children's camera toy, is trademarked
- The names "Volkswagen" and "VW," as well as all vehicle names and designs, such as the VW Beetle and Camper Van, are trademarked
- Volkswagen, VW, and all vehicles names cannot be included in the metadata for commercial use
- Illustrations/vectors of any Volkswagen vehicle, or ones that closely resemble a VW, are unacceptable for commercial and editorial use; this includes icon sets
- Photographs and footage that include VW vehicles are only acceptable for editorial use with a proper caption
WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Symbol
- The WEEE symbol, a crossed-out wheeled bin indicating separate collection for WEEE (waste of electrical and electronic equipment) in Europe, often found on the back of electronics, is trademarked
- The black and white Wi-Fi Alliance Logo is trademarked
- Unacceptable for commercial or editorial use
- The WSL (World Surf League) and Surf Ranch names and branding including logos, event names such as Freshwater Pro and Sydney Surf Pro, jerseys (including competitors in jerseys), trophies, and all related merchandise are trademarked.
- WSL, Surf Ranch and the World Surf League name or event such as Freshwater Pro and Sydney Surf Pro may not be used as keywords.

Yes We Can
- The slogan “Yes We Can” is trademarked
- The name, logo, and design of the Zamboni ice resurfacing machine are copyrighted
- The words “Zumba,” “Zumba Fitness,” “Zumbatomic,” “Zumba Gold,” “Zumbathon,” “Zumbawear,” and “Zlife” are trademarked.
