Frequently Asked Questions
What is Deep Metadata?
Consider Deep Metadata the Vecteezy version of descriptive metadata - descriptive information about a photo, used for discovery and identification. It includes elements such as number of people in a photo, age of people in a photo, the photo’s style, and so on.
Isn’t Deep Metadata just keywords?
In the case of Vecteezy, no. Deep Metadata is separate from keywords in the Eezy Content Manager and is an additional layer of descriptive metadata to improve the discoverability of a contributor’s content.
How does the Deep Metadata feature in the Content Manager work?
Deep Metadata selections (which are separate from keywords) are made by each contributor at the time of submission and are used for Vecteezy Photos filtering. By checking the appropriate boxes in the Deep Metadata feature, contributors will be adding Deep Metadata details, proportionally improving discoverability of their photos.
How can I see my Deep Metadata selections on Vecteezy.com once my images are published?
The first step is to search for a keyword that you know is associated with your image(s). Use this keyword in your initial search on vecteezy.com. It’s likely that your images will appear with a number of other assets so this is where you’ll want to use the Deep Metadata filters on the left hand side of the search results to filter for your image. For instance, if you know your image is a close-up and at the time of submission you checked the Deep Metadata Image Style box for close-up, this should help narrow your results.
The keyword or filter I want to add with the Deep Metadata feature doesn’t appear as a suggestion.
The Deep Metadata feature only surfaces those selections that are directly tied to Vecteezy.com search filter options. In the future, at our discretion, we may add more filters to the Deep Metadata feature.
The Deep Metadata selection I made in the Eezy Content Manager, doesn't seem to surface my photo on the site.
Your selection may be searchable even if you don’t see it. Try searching on your image with a chosen keyword, then choose the appropriate filters on the left hand side of the search grid. When the image is returned, you’ll know the Deep Meta selection is available for customers.

Number of People
For all content, apply a selection to describe the number of people strongly visible. Below are the available number of people keywords:
|Number||Number of People Selection|
|3+||Group of People|
Tip: Use ‘Incidental People’ as a separate keyword to describe people that are out of focus or in the background. Apply only one correct Number of People term.

Age of People
Applying accurate age selections to images displaying people is crucial for helping customers to find your work. For each person strongly visible, apply a selection for the broader age term (Child) if known. Please avoid applying inaccurate age selections, e.g. applying Adult to content showing only children aged 12 or younger. Remember, apply only one age selection for each person visible.

Ethnicity selection must be supported by your model release(s). If there are no model release(s) or the model has not added an ethnicity, an ethnicity selection may not be added. Please do not guess - ethnicity information is extremely important to our customers and as a result, must always be accurate.
