FAQ
What is the Web Photo Upload Method?
Web Photo Upload is a method of importing your resources into the Content Manager that begins the process of validating your content before submitting resources for review. The process ensures that your content meets general technical standards and will read any embedded metadata during image processing. It is currently only available for Photo Upload.
How can I access the Web Photo Upload Method?
Once signed in to the Content Manager as an accepted Photo Contributor, you will see a green button in the main navigation bar that reads “Upload Files”. Click this button to begin the upload process.
You can then upload by dragging and dropping your selected files into the upload widget or by clicking inside the widget to open your browser’s file selector.
After your files have been imported to the widget they will be displayed in a list view and are ready to be uploaded and moved to the processing state.
After you have uploaded your files using the upload widget you are now ready to process the uploaded files to validate their technical requirements and read any metadata embedded. To begin processing the files, click the “Process Files” button. The progress bar will confirm when processing is complete.
The files will be processed to check for embedded metadata, duplicate files, and potential errors or failed requirements.
Once the files are finished processing, the green button will display Review Files. By clicking Review Files you will advance the files to a pending submission state where you can add or edit metadata such as titles, descriptions, and keywords as well as attach model, minor, and property release information. Once the required information has been gathered and prepared, you are ready to submit files for review.
How can I review errors or files that failed to upload?
If the system discovers an error during processing,an error log will be generated for review once processing has finished. To review the error details click View Error Log.
By clicking the View Error Log you will open a popup that lists the filename with the error and the error that was encountered.
Files with errors cannot move forward to the pending review queue and will be removed from the upload batch. If the error can be resolved you may want to attempt to make the necessary updates and try uploading the file again.
