What is an Editorial resource?
Editorial resources document real-life issues, current events, and stories of human interest in an accurate way. Editorial resources are relevant and meaningful and engage viewers by illustrating newsworthy subjects such as business, culture, health, technology, events, and travel. Editorial resources are used as an effective way to strengthen news and opinion stories, blog posts, social campaigns, and print and digital commentaries, by lending visual context to a story.
What does it mean when a resource is labeled Editorial Use Only on Vecteezy?
Resources labeled Editorial Use Only on Vecteezy are restricted from advertising or promotional usage of any kind. The subjects in Editorial Use Only resources - trademarks, logos, objects, people or places - are not released, and/or clearances have not been obtained for any commercial usage.
How can Vecteezy customers use Editorial resources?
Editorial resources can only be used in a journalistic or informative way. Since the vast majority of subjects depicted in Editorial resources are not released (model/property releases) or clearances from the trademark or copyright holder have not been granted, they are not suitable for promotional or commercial use of any kind.
A few examples of an Editorial end use for Vecteezy customers, might be:
- News and magazine (print/digital) stories
- Editorial features - opinion pieces, i.e. Op-Eds
- Blog or website (for descriptive purposes, not promotional)
- Traditional and digital news broadcasts
- Documentary television/film
- Textbooks or reference materials

I don’t have model or property releases for my resources - can I submit them as Editorial?
In order for Vecteezy to accept a resource as Editorial, the resource must convey enough context to support a newsworthy or topical theme. Resources featuring trademarks or copyrighted materials aren't automatically considered Editorial. The same is true of resources that are lacking required model and property releases. Vecteezy Reviewers will ultimately decide whether or not the Editorial resources you have submitted meet our requirements.
What are the requirements for accepted Editorial resources at Vecteezy?
For resources to be accepted as Editorial, contributors must ensure their resources:

What are some popular Editorial subjects?
Here are a few popular Editorial subjects:
Olympics
A great example of an Editorial subject that is currently in demand is the Olympics. The Tokyo 2020 Olympics has just wrapped up one year later than scheduled, and in early 2022 China will host the Beijing Winter Olympics. While the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has registered trademarks for subjects like the Olympic Rings and prohibited the use of the symbol for commercial purposes unless authorized by the IOC, there is still a need for visuals featuring the Olympic Rings for both documentary and storytelling purposes over the next six (6) months.
TikTok
With 689 million monthly active users and 1B+ video views per day, TikTok is a social media giant. The social video platform has only been around since 2016 but has gained a massive following and audience. With the rapid growth and success of the platform, everyone is taking notice. Hundreds of online stories and articles are being written about TikTok’s success, including the unique circumstances around the platform’s privacy issues. All of this makes for a highly newsworthy subject.
