Upload Settings

What are Upload settings?

Upload settings are optional, customizable default configurations that are applied to every file you upload to help you submit your files for review faster.

Available settings to configure include:

• License
• AI-Generated?
• Auto Submit
• Magic Metadata

Each setting will alter the default values or processes that occur after you upload files.  

For example, the “AI-Generated?” will set the AI-Generated checkbox to True or False by default, and “License” settings determine whether your files default to “Pro”, “Free”, or “Editorial” licenses.

How do I use Upload Settings?

Upload settings are easy to apply or modify any time! Simply:

1. From the Upload page, click “Edit” in the top right corner of the “Upload Settings” section
2. Select the desired settings for each category
3. Click “Save”

How frequently you need to change upload settings will vary based on the variety of content you submit. 

For example, a contributor who submits both Pro and Editorial photos may need to change their Photos License Upload Setting more often than a contributor who only submits Pro photos.  

Which Upload methods do Upload Settings apply to?

Upload settings apply to all Web, sFTP, and aggregator uploads. 

Please keep your upload settings in mind if you use an aggregator to upload files to Vecteezy. 

What if I want to submit files with different license types? 

You retain full control over your license selection on the Add Data page.

So, here are a few ways you can continue to submit both Pro and Free files:

Option 1: Upload your files in batches. 

1. Organize your files into a “‘Pro” upload batch and a “Free” upload batch
2. Change your upload settings prior to uploading each batch.

Option 2: Use a CSV

1. Create a CSV to set the license type and other information for your files
2. Upload all of your files together with your CSV.
   Tip: You can also upload your CSV from the Add Data page after upload.

Option 3: Add Data

1. Upload all of your files together
2. Use Add Data to set the licenses individually
   
   

Will applying titles, keywords, and license using CSVs still work with the new Upload Settings?

Yes! 

If you upload a CSV via Web Upload or SFTP upload, the Titles, Keywords, and License you set in the CSV will be applied to your files. 

CSV License information will take priority over your Upload Settings License selection.

Here is how we process Title and Keyword metadata:

1. On Upload, we first apply metadata from valid CSV files.
2. If no valid CSVs are uploaded, then we apply embedded metadata. 
3. Lastly, if no embedded metadata is present, then metadata must be applied via Add Data.
